Summary

I am a hardworking cook with a positive attitude. My first restaurant was a Japanese Steakhouse and Sushi bar, and I would still work there if it wasn't located in Kirksville, Missouri. I have gotten a lot of valuable experience working in a larger, corporate kitchen at Cooper's Hawk, but I would love to get back into a sushi restaurant, particularly one that is locally-owned, because I am much more passionate about that type of work.

  • Worked pantry, fry, broil stations on the line and also helped with prep.
  • Performed general line cook responsibilities including plating every dish accurately and consistently, keeping a clean workspace, and communicating with other members of the kitchen.
  • Executed banquets, catering, and private events up to 60 people by myself. This involved everything from creating a prep list to serving the guests a 3-4 course meal.

  • During my 3 years at Bonzai I worked my way up from dish washer to lead cook
  • As lead cook I was in charge of the back kitchen, which included managing 2-4 people on a typical night
  • We received tickets from the front, and were completely responsible for preparing appetizers, dinners, soups, and salads in a timely fashion
  • One of my biggest priorities as lead cook was cleanliness, ensuring that me and the other cooks followed proper food safety and sanitation guidelines
  • I was responsible for delegating cooking jobs: who is cooking, plating, prepping, etc.
  • I was responsible for prepping and re-stocking the back kitchen, and coordinating what we need to prep and order with the owner of the restaurant

  • I worked retail at the Water Hole for about 5 years, and I never missed a shift and still have a great relationship with the owner
  • A big part of this job was customer service, helping customers find the right chemicals for their pools.
