During our time as volunteers at the Baptist Medical Centre I assisted various physicians in the outpatient clinic setting. In addition, I facilitated the comings and goings of surgical teams, medical residents, and nursing students. Furthermore, I was given the wonderful opportunity of collaborating with two individual organizations, Patrons of the Hearts, located in Jacksonville, Florida and Save A Child's Heart, located in Holon, Israel. On two separate occasions I escorted a parent and their Ghanian child born with a severe congenital heart defect outside Ghana in order for them to receive life-saving surgery.
