I was involved in complete tear downs of antique tractors. Taking pictures during the process, organizing all parts, and labeling all hardware. I welded up damaged areas and fabricated new parts as needed. I sandblasted old paint off and then primed the cleaned metals in the paint booth. I also painted the bodywork of the tractors. I would reference parts/service manuals and pictures from the tear down to reassemble the tractor.
When first hired, I was in the machine shop running a mill and lathe. After a year, I then moved on to the fixture tables. There I used CAD (computer automated design) 3D models to build tooling. After perfecting my skills in building tooling fixtures and understanding how they worked, I started to work on the robotic machines. I programmed Yaskawa and Fanuc robots to weld automotive exhaust assemblies and adjusted the fixturing to meet customers tolerances and weld parameter specifications. These machines would be put into production in facilities all over the United States and Mexico where I would travel to set up the machines and work directly with the customers on how to use the equipment and ensure proper function and product quality.
