I fell in love with chemistry, analytical chemistry, because I love to problem solve and the hands on approach in the lab. I was drawn to environmental because I think we need to act now and fix our environment to help save our ecosystem.
As a lab assistant for a chemistry 1 class under Dr.Riley I was tasked with teaching and helping the students with labs. For three of the labs ik taught and helped the students perform labs completely on my own while the professor supervised. I taught me how to help in a lab situation as a supervisor by helping the students work though lab related problems. I was also in charge of making sure safety protocal was being met.
I have lots of hands on experience with all types of lab Instruments By my third year at NWMSU our professors thought we should be left alone to run our experiments with the lab equipment and if there was a problem it allowed us to get hands on experience trouble shooting the instrument Our lab classes consisted to an average of 5 to 8 students which allowed us plenty of time with then instruments
