Work History

Hazmat Technician

Clean Harbors

Perform daily pre-trip and post trip D.O.T. vehicle inspections. Ensure that all state and federal permits are current and not expired. Once in the office, begin accessing my daily job list via smart phone or laptop using multiple applications such as Sharepoint, Microsoft Teams, etc., and then load truck accordingly with required supplies such as paperwork, hazard class diamonds, drums, boxes etc. I then safely travel to customer locations in 28' box truck, typicaly within a 200 mile radius. Once on-site, locate and visually examine hazardous material containers and waste. Segregate waste as needed and package waste according to E.P.A. and D.O.T. requirements, ie. cardboard boxes for non-regulated material, polymer fiber drums for corrosives, oxidizing chemicals, steel drums for flammable, etc. Perform cylinder evaluations and corresponding paperwork as needed. After waste has been properly packaged for transport I then use a company provided laptop, smartphone and printer to print the necessary D.O.T. shipping paperwork, either a B.O.L. or a Hazardous waste manifest with corresponding shipping labels. Have paperwork signed by customer and leave copies with management. Correctly label all waste and load truck using a lift gate, pallet jacks, fork truck or by hand. Safely transport waste to hub and unload into warehouse, scanning and uploading paperwork and any applicable photos to company databases, finally transfer ownership of material to warehouse personnel. Perform post-trip inspection of truck.
