I love teaching. I love the process of engaging learners in their development. I believe quality teaching should be purposeful, dynamic and mutually rewarding. Teachers learn from students, and that is what makes the experience of education so valuable. Education is not the filling of a pail, but the lighting of the fire; good teachers must find the way to motivate students in this process. For over twenty years, I have taught IGCSE English First and Second Language, IGCSE English literature, IB English A literature, and in these various levels, I have understood the need for active, human engagement in the process of teaching and learning, attending to student interests, identifying strengths and areas for growth. Apart from a passion for teaching English, I have also worked as IB TOK Coordinator for over 10 years. In this time, student results were consistently above the world average, with over 50% of students achieving A/B in this challenging subject, summarized here: https://bit.ly/3ykJPED
