-Knowledge of the care and complications of Level 1 trauma patients: MVC, stroke, GSW, severe brain injury, sepsis, burns, etc.

-Knowledge of the care and complications of post-surgical patients: ortho, vascular, GI, thoracic, neuro, and liver, kidney, and pancreas transplants

-Assist with insertion, maintenance, and removal of invasive lines: central lines, arterial lines, dialysis catheters, epidurals, and nerve blocks

-Titrate IV infusions: vasopressors, sedatives, paralytics, anticoagulants, and insulin

-Assist with surgical interventions: bolt, EVD, chest tube, bedside OR, traction, tracheostomy, and PEG placement

-Pain, sedation, and paralytic management: continuous infusions, PCA, epidural, BIS, and Train of Four

-Neurological care: ICP and CPP monitoring, bolt, EVD, and lumbar drain management

-Respiratory care: assist with intubating, extubating, bronchoscopies, bronchoalveolar lavages, bedside tracheostomy, chest tube placement, ventilator weaning

-Cardiac care: transvenous pacing, synchronized cardio versions, pulmonary artery catheter and non-invasive CHEETAH monitoring

-Orthopedic care: assist with insertion and maintenance of traction, casting, and slings

-Targeted temperature management: icy lines, cooling blankets, blood warmers, and warming blankets

-Manage bedside dialysis: SLED, CRRT

-Initiate and administer MTP blood products, operate and titrate Belmont rapid infuser

-Participate in various roles during patient resuscitation

-Facilitate organ donations with Missouri Transplant Services
