Dedicated paraprofessional skilled in classroom management and student assessment. Experienced in collaborative teamwork and effective communication, ready to enhance student learning outcomes in diverse educational settings.
As a Paraprofessional, I get the opportunity to work in all facets of the building. I began my Para career as a Co-Teaching Paraprofessional for 4th and 5th grade. In this position, I worked in the general education classroom, mostly with students in small groups. I used manipulatives as well as student work to assist kids in their learning. I also helped make copies, cover the classroom during IEP meetings, and I spent many days as a substitute teacher. I think that my time spent subbing is where I learned some of my most valuable lessons and developed the most skills that I practice to this day. During this time, I helped children on a deeper level and advanced their learning. I was in this position for 2 years, until I entered my current position. I am currently a Title 1 Reading and Math Paraprofessional. In this position, I mainly pull groups of Kindergarten through 5th grade to work on Title 1 skills, as well as skills that their teachers assign to them. I still sub regularly and use the skills I learned in the small groups that I pull. I have learned more than I could have imagined in the school system so far, and I can't wait to finish my schooling so that I can teach full-time in the classroom.
