I am a graduate of Animal Behavior College’s Dog Obedience Instructor Training Program. I was hired by the business, The Dogs Spot, where I did my externship in North Kansas City Missouri. Additionally, I have boarded and walked dogs through the Rover app for three years. I was hired as an adoption counselor at the Humane Society of Missouri in 2023. I have a strong passion for helping animals and those who love them. My career is dedicated to enriching the animals lives as well as their families.

Assistant Dog Instructor

I was an assistant instructor for the following classes:

  • Puppy Prep: puppies from 8-15 weeks of age. Within the class we exposed puppies safely to different sounds, began teaching them basic commands such as their name and safe puppy socialization.
  • Family Manners: dogs of any age are being taught/ refreshed on basic commands. We taught owners how to capture behavior, lure a behavior, add cue to a behavior, use a signal marker, and reinforce effectively.
  • Canine Good Citizen Prep: this is a preparation class for dogs that want to take the 10 step Canine Good Citizen test. Once a student passed the evaluation they received a certificate from the American Kennel Club.
  • Caring Canine Therapy Dog: this classes is for any students that passed the AKC’s CGC evaluation. It introduces dogs and owners to the therapy world and what is expected of them. We covered the different places a therapy dog may work such as schools, hospitals, and assisted living.
  • Excellent Engagement: Focuses only on helping owners shift their dog’s attention from cars, other dogs, people etc back to themselves. We covered different games you can use to play with your dog to engage their minds.
