As an outbound warehouse operator, my main objective is to pick and prepare stock for a number of Aldi grocery stores in the region. I pick mainly boxed dry goods, but other items include perishables and furniture on occasion. I make sure to build as quickly, efficiently, and safely as possible to ensure a smooth process. I'm always certain my pallets are integral and properly wrapped, before labeling it with the correct store number, and truck lane. I notify our line lifts (forklift operators) if more product is needed for a picking slot, and I'm always glad to assist others if needed.

Online Grocery and Pickup is a fast-paced, teamwork oriented system. Working with others is especially important here, as there are many roles within the department. For my first few months, I would pick on the floor for up to 8 customers at a time. I picked ambient foods, frozen and cold foods, HBA items, and countless other items like furniture and electronics. I would also have to choose appropriate substitutions if any items were not available. On occasion, I would also stage picked orders and place them in their appropriate temperature area. After a while, I became a designated dispenser, in which I would locate, organize, and coordinate multiple orders at a time to take out to customers, in any weather. Though all roles differ, they all have a common objective to ensure food safety and upmost quality service.
