• Conducts explosion fundamentals research, explosion protection product validation testing, and helping to teach others about how explosions occur and how Fike’s products can help keep critical systems and personnel safe
• Works with a highly qualified cross-functional team – experts in the field of explosion research – to make complex test programs possible
• Assists laboratory engineers and technicians with activities related to product development, design validation, and research based testing
• Follows guidelines provided by laboratory engineers for conducting product design and performance tests
• Assists with the assembly of prototypes, customer supplied test equipment and test specimens, test-setup and data collection efforts
• Assists Fike employees not usually involved in research and development testing
• Expedites the procurement of miscellaneous parts and materials required for prototypes, product development, and design validation testing
• Establishes and maintains the organization and cleanliness of Laboratory/Test Site work areas to Fike-S program standards, including separation and labeling of like tools, materials and parts
• Maintains suitable tools for assigned Laboratory/Test Site areas
• Assembles prototypes of new products and test apparatus in a timely and workmanlike manner while under the guidance of Laboratory engineers
• Inspects, tests and adjusts assemblies, parts and systems for compliance with specifications using hand tools and precision testing equipment
• Monitors ongoing testing to evaluate performance and reliability of prototypes or production models as defined by Laboratory engineers
• Ensures that semi-permanent test systems remain intact as other R&D efforts proceed in proximity to one another
• Follows up on procurement of prototypes and sample materials to support product development, design validation, and research project timelines
• Keeps laboratory management and engineers informed concerning work assignment conflicts
• Maintains the confidentiality of all information processed

• Perform all duties and responsibilities in accordance with Mizkan America safety policies, OSHA regulations, GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), and SOP (Standard Operating Procedures).
• Perform and document results of lab testing including inspection of incoming glass.
• Perform quality checks on production lines for finished product and verify that the finished goods information, temperatures, and weights and sample of product are with in specification and defect guidelines. Verify correct date coding on cases and proper packaging. Inform supervisor or manager of any issues found.
• Perform specified inspection procedures on product in production such as brix, pH, acidity, viscosity, taste, odor, color,
• Use various lab equipment including but not limited to the following: Auto titrator, spectrophotometer, weigh scale, GC, pH, Brix, turbidity meter, hand tools, Viscosity meter, personal computer, and other office equipment.
• Review paperwork during current line checks including label verifications
• Inspect, test and document results on incoming supplies and ingredients, verify they are within specification. Inform supervisor or manager of any issues found.
• Swabbing for cleanliness or allergens when needed.
• Be present for any rework off the line or hold rework to be sure inspection is being done properly and help keep track of defects and quantity of defects.
• Work closely with production employees, bottling supervisors, quality supervisor and manager to resolve problems.
• Report all defects, holds, segregated items and rejected products to appropriate personnel.
• Perform holds as appropriate utilizing facilities ERP system as well as internal processes.
• Maintain lab and equipment in a hygienic state.
• Pull product retention samples and perform specified inspection procedures on product. Complete inventory transfer documentation for pulled samples.
• Complete and file certificate of analysis documentation.
• Assist in training new Quality Assurance Technicians and other plant personnel as needed..
• Fill in for other Quality Assurance Technicians as needed to cover PTO, LOA or other time off required which may include shift change.
• May perform miscellaneous duties as required by the Quality Assurance Supervisor or Manager.
• Will assist Quality Assurance Manager in maintaining company quality standards.
• Basic understanding of LOTO and keep Lab clean and in orderly condition.
• Responsible for food product quality and safety.

Work hand in hand with Metrology engineers, in supporting new instrumental development and equipment life cycle maintenance; responsible for on-shift equipment troubleshooting, test method and preventive maintenance procedure creation and revisions; calibration standard management and maintaining labs spare parts and supplies.

Measures the parameters of the product, interpreting and ensuring conformance to the specification limits. Perform audits
of process and finished goods. Perform package inspection for quality specifications. Communicate all deviations, and
complete record of inspection results, acceptance, rejection and disposition for entry into logbooks or computer databases.
Qualified as a Quality Control Trainer.

Managed network system databases; develop emergency action plans; maintain electronic key management system databases; implement information assurance vulnerability alerts, bulletins, incident reporting processes and policies. Use commercial software and operating system specific tools to perform virus protection and detection, system backups, data recovery, and auditing functions.

Operate external communications suites in the High Frequency (JF), Very High Frequency (VHF), Ultra High Frequency (UHF), Super High Frequency (SHF), Extremely High Frequency (EHF), Radio Frequency (RF) spectrums and the Automated Digital Network System (ADNS) for controlling RF assets.

Provides a knowledge to administer UNIX operating systems, Sybase SQL Adaptive Server Enterprize Relational Database, Windows Server, network system operations and protocols, system applications, system security and system administrator functions.
