Girl Scout Gold

At the start of grade school I joined Girl Scouts. As a Girl Scout, I participated in community work. One prominent achievement was completing my Bronze, Silver, and Gold awards. For the Girl Scout Bronze Award, I worked with my troop to plant trees for my elementary school playground. My Silver Award was a small group achievement with two other scouts. For that project we designed and created dog and cat beds for rescued animals at local shelters. Lastly, I completed my Gold Award. I completed this project myself. I worked with a local nonprofit, Newborns in Need, to create sustainable supply kits for families in poverty. I sewed products like blankets, towels, and breast pads and spent time at the nonprofit assembling the kits. During this project I helped to create approximately 80 supply bags for families.
