Summary

As an educational leader, I want to establish a classroom where each student feels valued, encouraged, and empowered to learn. My love for teaching is based on compassion and high standards, which I have developed during my coursework and hands-on work in educational institutions and agencies. I am eager to advance in my teaching career and expand my knowledge on how to accommodate the requirements of diverse students.

I've had the chance to do observations at the elementary, middle, and high school levels, such as Fox Elementary, Drummond Elementary, Pattenville High School, Freer Elementary, and Confluence Academy. This has allowed me to gain a comprehensive understanding of instructional strategies and student development. I've learned from these experiences how crucial it is to be flexible, have excellent classroom management, and cultivate relationships with children at all educational levels. Additionally, I have personally witnessed the good effects that collaborative teaching teams and a supportive school climate can have on students' learning and wellbeing.

As part of my academic work, I have worked with students in educational agencies and schools, practicing behavior management techniques, literacy support, and lesson planning. I now have a solid understanding of instruction based on data and how it can inform choices to promote the development of students. Effective teaching, in my opinion, starts with getting to know your students on an intellectual, social, and emotional level. Then, you can use data to customize lessons to match their needs.

I have also thoroughly examined the Missouri Teacher Standards in order to get ready for my student teaching experience. I pledge to uphold the highest standards for my profession, practice ongoing reflection, and advance equity in my instruction. I see these criteria as a framework for being the kind of teacher my students deserve, not a checklist.

In the end, I want to work as a teacher who helps every student realize their greatest potential, fosters a love of learning, and stimulates curiosity. I can't wait to carry on with this adventure and gain knowledge from the achievements, difficulties, and mentoring that come with student teaching.
