Summary

I was StoneBridge Adams street employee of the year twice out of the 4.5 years I have been with this company. I was 2021 employee of the year, and I was 2024 employee of the year. It was different Administrators both times. I say that so you know I was selected by 2 different people at 2 different times. I started working there as a housekeeper, not necessarily what I wanted to do forever but It paid the bills. I put my all into that position, made sure to get to know the residents and the staff, and within 3 months I got promoted to the receptionist position when it opened up. I loved doing that job and I put my all into that position as well. A year later the Activities Director position came open and several of the residents and staff had told me I would be great at it. I took the course and got certified and a week later I got promoted to the ActivitiesDirector. I realized I had found my calling with the residents and giving them something to look forward to everyday, Giving them someone that the know Loves them and is happy to see them everyday! They give me as much Joy as I give them maybe more honestly! Such a very fulfilling and satisfying position, At the same time it is such a hard position and it’s not for everyone. You love these people, they are your family and then you loose them over and over. Not only do you loose the you loose their families that you get close to as well! It is hard but if I can give them happiness their last years of their life and know that I made a difference then it is worth it.
