Summary

Almost 20 years experience as a design engineer with experience in ground up system design that included pricing and actual assembly from start to finish. I have taken and completed several hydraulic training courses from multiple hydraulic companies. That training included both classroom education as well as hands on training.

I have conducted custom tailored hydraulic training classes for Summit Truck Bodies to provide education to our employees.

I have done several service calls to repair and/or replace systems on trucks in the field.

My work experience includes several years of mechanic work as a heavy OTR truck mechanic specializing in suspension repair, brake R&R as well as front and multi-axle vehicle alignments

I also have machine work experience including use of a lathe and vertical mill, as well as welding/fabrication experience.

Work History

Engineer

Summit Truck Bodies
08.2014 - Current

As an Engineer, I design both mechanical, hydraulic and electric systems and components for use in mostly mobile applications on mechanics service and lube trucks. That design includes open center, closed center, closed center load sense and some hydrostatic hydraulic systems. Recent design projects include a new series of cranes design and currently working on an in-house built van body.

With my length of service here, I also do a lot of service related support for customers that have our trucks in the field. Part of that service support includes redesign of implemented systems for current units in the field.

Owner/Operator

Thompson Ag Services
03.2014 - Current

I am the self employed as a mechanic on construction, automotive and agricultural equipment. My responsibilities focus mainly on agricultural mechanical, electrical and hydraulic diagnosis and repair. I have experience in engine repair and complete rebuild as well as transmission repair and rebuild experience. Most of my work is on older equipment that is no longer properly supported at dealerships. Work on the older equipment requires more in depth manual diagnosis and use of printed technical service resources for guidance rather than plug in computer diagnosis.
