Over the course of the program week, learned from people who work in all levels of government and gained interesting networking opportunities. Obtained firsthand experience with campaigning and political operations, commerce, education, international affairs, journalism and media, law, law enforcement, legislative and executive policy, and local government and policy. Campaigned and was elected as "City Judge" and "City Attorney" during various simulations.

This program is designed to help students learn about business, build teamwork and presentation skills, and prepare for the college admissions process. Some highlights of the program are learning about academic and career opportunities in business, study and interact with Olin Business School faculty, current WashU students, staff, and alumni, interact with business professionals, build leadership and communication skills, find out more about the college application process and financial assistance/scholarships, draft and revise a resume and a personal statement for college, develop a business idea with a team and present to a panel of judges. I participated in this program the summer going into my junior year as I am interested in majoring in global business.

The Young Women’s Leadership Challenge (YWLC) is a yearlong U.S.-based program for high school aged-girls created and managed by The Pangea Network, a nonprofit dedicated to empowering women and communities in the U.S. and Kenya. YWLC is composed of a summer conference, mentoring, monthly meetings, Fall and Spring workshops and lectures throughout the year.
