Results-driven team leader with expertise in managing events and building connections. Comfortable speaking in large groups and making each person in that group feel directly impacted.
As a sophomore at my high school, I was the president of our admissions club; in charge of welcoming new students, increasing new student enrollment, as well as creating initiatives that would make the student body as a whole feel accepted.
Responsibilities range from speaking to new family's to presenting on my experience I had at the school participating in new family events, to open house nights. I often speak on panels, give tours, and advocate for new family needs directly to the school.
Throughout my time in high school I held a job at BounceU, a kids party place. When I was first hired at 15 my job was to run the parties, maintain safety, and interact with people attending the parties. Then, in my Junior year of high school I was promoted to store manager where I was the first face you would see when you walked in the door, led my team/employees to success, and handled all transactions within the store.
For three out of my 4 years of high school I served as my school's JSU president. I would organize our weekly meetings, run them, host fundraisers, and work with our community outreach to ensure we were not only working with our school, but also helping the community directly.
As an unpaid intern with StandWithUs, my job was to spread awareness about the effects of anti-semetism, educate others about the values and beliefs of Judaism, and further the knowledge of Israel and what it means to be a Zionist.
Tivnu is a social justice, Jewish, gap year program in Portland Oregon. I attended after graduating high school a semester early. In this program, four days a week I would volunteer my time as a TA in a first grade classroom in an under-resourced school district in Portland. Then, one day a week I would work on a non-profit construction crew, helping to restore affordable housing options to serve displaced individuals. I also would attend lecture-style classes where we would all learn about different social justice issues, how they are impacting our world, and how we can directly contribute to serving them.
My high school had a vet class that I participated in for two years and outside of the class, we would volunteer to assist our on-site vet in various animal(s) wellness visits. This would consist of administering shots, maintaining animal well-being during their appointment, and running/reading/studying their lab results.
