Daisy of the Year Nursing Award
My Daisy of the year award was given to me from a patients daughter. This patient was very sick when I first started taking care of him. After caring for this patient for several weeks, he was recovering very well when the Occupational Therapist and myself were going to move him to the chair and start his mobility work. Upon standing, the patient fell back into the bed and went pulseless. I began CPR immediately and started coding him. My quick actions saved this mans life. The daughter was so grateful, she nominated me for a Daisy award and I received Daisy of the year from it.
