I am a task oriented people person. I am well known for getting the job done while simultaneously building rapport with clients and co-workers.
While at the University it was generally a fast-paced environment. I worked with a team of about 6 in the Cashiers Office. We were responsible for handling phone calls from students and parents who had questions or concerns about their tuition bills. Each of us had a set duty to take care of along with handling regular office work. Mine happened to be processing tax credits for Non-resident students and parents. This was a program that allowed parents who worked in Missouri but did not live in Missouri to deduct a certain portion towards tuition. There was a vast amount of personal paperwork involved to achieve this and always a deadline with which to get it applied to the account. We all had to deal with angry parents daily. It was our job to explain policy, procedure, and the bill and to calm them down so they could better understand how the billing process worked. Which, for Mizzou, is complicated at times. Working at Mediacom is just like working at Mizzou dealing with customers that are not happy with the bill they have gotten in the mail or by email.
