My chemistry research was part of a Drury summer program called RENS, where I spent over 200 hours in the lab. This research involved using High-Performance Liquid Chromatography to create an assay for phosphofructokinase-1 activity and the effects of locally synthesized inhibitors on this. This research aimed to produce valuable data in this assay that could be used in further cancer treatment research and obesity, diabetes, and metabolic syndrome. After finishing my research in the summer of 2021, I worked until October to create a presentation and poster, which were presented at Drury University. I traveled to San Diego for the national ACS conference the following spring (2022) to present my poster. I have continued this research during my final semester at Drury, with it also serving as my Honors project.
